I was able to work on my wife's car yesterday and today. I got some epoxy primer on and painted the cowl and firewall. Now its time to seam seal.

Over the holidays I had the car primed, installed the subframe and starting hanging the repop fenders. The first set was way off with the brackets, so I sent them back and got and another pair in. The brackets were correct but the gaps were huge and was going to require major attention to keep my 6 year old son from fall ing in and never to been seen again. Ok, Im exaggerating some, but 5/16"-3/8" gaps from fender to door was nothing to take lightly.

So, not exactly sure what my best option was and needing an expert opinion, I called the the resident expert fabricator and gave Dan from Holohan's HotRod Shop in Mooresville a call. I described the situation to Dan and was surprised when he told me, "No problem, I will come down Saturday, take a look at it and we'll work on it". I was not expecting that.

Talk about customer service, and having a passion for cars and wanting them look right, Dan (true to his word) drove 1hr 45 minutes along with Jack (the dog..aka "fur person")to my house, checked everything over and we started on the fix, which was to add filler rod to the door and alot of it.

Many thanks my friend for coming down and on a Saturday. Thanks for the help and pointers. It is very much appreciated!!

Now time to do some grinding and final gapping.

Jay,looking good, those door to fender gaps are always so much fun to make fit especially when you get aftermart parts involved. Looks like Dan Holahan has you on the right track .Nice customer service too Joe
