My truck is a Crew Cab - 8ft box - DRW - with 4:10 gears -- so the chart you posted has it at 15,600 #s
I have the same truck (4x4), and I've towed my 13K+ pound fifth wheel all over the place so I know it can easily handle what you're looking at. This thing is gonna be badass that's for sure.

So I'm thinking about just asking them to leave the "box" plywood - painted/sealed.... and maybe having the floor done in bed liner? Or maybe
just leaving it plain and painted.

My current trailer has polished diamond plate --- talk about a waste of money and slippery! One drop of coolant or fluid - and you're going to the hospital with a broken hip!
Bed Liner would totaly be the answer!!! have them bed line the plywood on both sides prior to installing it that way it won't rot from the bottom side like mine it. 5$ says they make it an option after you ask for it!!

I wonder what is the perfect flooring solution? If it's rough, it's impossible to clean. If it's smooth and it gets even a little damp, you bust azz. I bet most are unhappy whichever way they went.

Mine is also a 4X ---- wish it wasn't but that's another "didn't know better". I really don't need the 4X since - if it's snowing - I just don't go anywhere! LOL

BEST THING EVER --- the BANKS system -- with the brake controller! WOW does that thing work slick! Lift your foot and bam! She goes into compression mode (of course it's not compression but that's what it feels like). So for schitz and giggles -- I came down a long grade - and switched from the trailer mode in the truck (factory option) to the BANKS version... and back and forth. OMG!
The factory version -- I'm just picking up speed man.... like a runaway.... switch to the Banks - BAM! The POS hauls right down and just stays there - and I never touched the brakes. Not sure how it works - but it sure works!

Hey, has anyone steered you away from black yet ?
I know black is beautiful but, "light" is right.

NO

I know you're absolutely right on "white/light"... but I just can't pull the trigger unless my stuff looks "custom" and "badass" even if it means pain and suffering!

I get so many calls on the CB saying how killer my rig looks rollin'.... and I have to like it myself or I'm just not happy. I fully understand my sickness and have surrendered to it!

PS:

I really just want to be a "baller" like Kenny and Rodger... and if I got white - Charley would think I copied him.

How about black sides with a white roof, with good roof vents.

Does the tailgate have to be swapped out with one that has the lower section in the middle?

Only if you want to avoid doing the dance of, lower the tailgate, hitch up to the trailer, raise the tailgate, drive off. Some people like to be able to back up, hitch up and go. I don't find it too annoying, but gets ugly if you forget.
