Perhaps I'm misunderstanding your comment, but the Locker doesn't lock the wheels together (like a spool would). A Locker has an internal ratcheting mechanism to allow the wheels to rotate at different speeds during turns.

Oh I did not know that. So when I make turns it will disengage and let the rear tires rotate individually? But then when I pick up speeds it will engage locking the wheels together?

Exactly. Some people find the engage/disengage a little harsh, because Lockers make some noise when that happens, especially at slow speeds like parking, making a U-turn, or backing out of a driveway. But in ordinary driving it isn't noticeable, and they work great for road racing and autoX.

And at 1000 hp, it's really the only game in town that will give you a true differential and the strength/durability you'll need.

Right on, that helped narrow down on some of my rear end questions. And I don't know if you could help me, but I am going to run 295 tires and was curious if most people that run wider tires under mini tubs have to shorten their housing length. Or do they just get offset wheels?
