Its a funny thing you should say that. The original model that was started at GMs Design north building was almost a very near copy of the 69.Charlie Lillard may remember for his car the MULE was used as an inspirational piece for the design model.
"Honey, can you get the cleaner for me?, I just puked all over my lap."

I think the concept is 70% +/- there. People mod, pro-tour, race, collect, enjoy 69 camaros for the same reason they don't mod, pro-tour, race, collect, enjoy pintos. (apology in advance to whomever just bolted 22s to your pinto)

69 body style flat out rocked! These forums clearly demonstrate that. That being said, I do believe the new Camaro should be a "fresh" statement of THE 69.

Major gripes with me: Take the beakiness out of the nose, PLEASE nice round headlights, from the most foward tip of the hood back to behind the rear wheels I think looks very right, but the back end needs some serious tuning IE: shape and tailights.

I will say the same thing here as I have said everywhere else about the new Camaro. I dont like it. I think if they would have designed it more retro like the 69 Camaro I would have loved it. I personally think a 2002 Ram air Trans am looks better. I would take the new Challenger over the new Camaro in a heart beat.

I think the overwhelming response to it has been positive. Wagoner mentioned that in his address to all the employees today. He specifically pointed to the Camaro concept as in indicator of the progress GM has made in historic design.

It will see production in the fall of '08.

Rockdogz...sorry about that. I was just throwing out a prediction. That's not factual.

My gut feeling is they will build it. The company needs "must have" cars and that is definitely a "must have" product. But like Lutz says...the numbers have to work.

They'll find a way.

.......I hope.

I hope they don't build it... I've promised myself I'd never have to make car payments, and I'm not sure I have the willpower to stop myself from signing on the dotted line
