Yeah let me know what you think. It will be a nice piece when the owners gets it under the 57. The 57 only had 8900 original miles. Crazy.

Come on guys -- don't tell me you're building a high dollar big time PT car and you can't dig up enough $$ to build a skill in your hobby that you'll use the rest of your life.... This is 1/3 of what a set of decent aluminum heads sells for! Or in this 'group' two tires!

I think for those of you that have some experience with the tig basically need to decide what you want more of out of this class, tig welding thicker metal is a totally different beast then sheetmetal. When you weld on sheetmetal that needs to be metalfinished you aren't as concerned with laying down nickels as you are controlling your heat and not warping your piece. Where as with thick metals you want a nice row of nickels that has the proper penetration. It would be hard to teach both because along with welding sheetmetal comes the time that will be spent teaching proper metal finishing technique.

I hope this helps some of you who are considering this class. I am excited to share the skills that I have learned in my 6 years in the business!

Just trying to figure out what date has the most interest. Mario asked to try a later date so I set up the June date. He also said he would dinner one night that weekend. But Brycen one of my guys said he is unable to attend the June weekend. June and July are busy months for my shop. Once I have the 12 people nailed down I will finalize the teachers for each discipline. Plus get any extra equipment needed like welding machines located.

I hope to have a solid head count by the end of this week.

So it's one or the other of the two dates?

Unless I'm totally surprised and have that many people sign up it will be one or the other. What weekend is better for you? So far most people seem to be available for both and only one guy, Mario had issues with the May date.

The majority of guys who have shown serious interest seem to have the attitude they would come hell or high water was the vibe I got.

At this point I'd like to focus on TIG welding sheetmetal and the metal finishing. I've got a 63 Nova that will need a few panels and some minitubs first. Then if Rodger does this a second time I can focus on TIG welding the thicker metals.

Once I have the 12 people nailed down I will finalize the teachers for each discipline. Plus get any extra equipment needed like welding machines located.

I will try my hardest to get there in May. It would be foolish to pass up on this at this price. Just compare the prices of some of these similar classes and you'll see this is a real good price. Would bringing our own machines help out?
