Often the discount codes will not work for items such as the T56 Magnum. I'd check around to see what the delta will be in total cost once it's all done so you make sure you don't end up paying the least amount for the tranny but end up getting nickle and dimed to death along with any support issues. Personally I'd stick with Hurst Driveline but that's just me.

I know Hurst extends the warranty on the T-56 Mag by a year. In a street application, is that worth anything? I really have not heard of any issues with this trans---at least not that I've seen anywhere on here or pro-touring.com.

I have contacted tons of places regarding a T-56 for my 68 Firebird project

and Hurst got back to me with an estimate really fast

American powertrain took about a couple weeks

and Keisler got back to me in only a matter of months, with a quote for a 5 speed, and after I tried to contact them to get an updated quote they never answered me, so I resubmitted on their website and now almost a year later, still nothing

Hurst +1

I was just looking at kits this weekend. American Powertrain seemed to have everything in the kit even the new tunnel piece. I also like the crossmember piece they offer.

I experienced the same thing with Keisler... No response to multiple web inquiries.

I've heard great things about Hurst too but living in CA, where they are based, I am trying to avoid the almost 10% sales tax but with American Powertrain the shipping to CA was over $1000. I need to call Hurst and weigh my options.

The Summit code seems like a great option but you/we will need to build the kit ourselves. But to save the tax, cheap shipping and 10% off seems like the best deal... But no tech support like with the others... hmmmm

I picked up my T-56 Magnum from RPM transmission (http://www.rpmtransmissions.com/index.html).

They did a good job at a good price. Nice guys to deal with to boot.

I bought all of my own stuff. I bought my T56 Magnum from Jegs and my clutch from Ram. Any authorized seller has to sell the T56 Magnum for the same price. The other stuff is where you have to be careful and get your savings.

I agree Bill. I just wanted to make sure there isn't a less expensive option I'm overlooking before pulling the trigger.
