I thought that there is a slight possibility that someone from Manitoba may be lurking on here...... so thought I would post a job opening!
HPI Customs is looking for a fabricator. I use the term loosely, as it will encompass many different aspects of car building, from the dirty work up to final assembly. Here is a list of skills that are "PREFFERED", but not all necessary. We are willing to train and help develop skill sets, but this job requires you to have previous experience.
I will warn you now that the position that we are trying to fill will be difficult, as it currently is the primary sheet metal fabricator/painter. We do not do FULL painjobs YET, but we do paint alot of dashboards, small parts, etc etc.
Other responsibilities included general fabrication, wiring, plumbing, and assembly work.
Here's the dream/wishlist for the skills department:
Minimum 2 years sheet metal replacement experience
Custom sheet metal forming basic skills at bare minimum
Experienced MIG welder
TIG Welding experience in stainless and aluminium
General CAD experience/good computer skills
Some form of experience in chassis construction or general fabrication
Possible experience in wiring/automotive electrical
General Mechanical skills (the more the better)
Basic painting skills
CNC/Machining experience is always a benefit
MOST IMPORTANTLY THE DESIRE TO LEARN!!!! None of us profess to know everything, and this industry is constantly evolving. Close-minded indiviuals need not apply!
The position will be primarily rust repair, ie. quarter panels, mini tubs, etc, and custom sheet metal fabrication/custom body work . Other responsibilities will possibly include painting and all other aspects of car fabrication, and would be delegated as required/possible based on the employee.
We are a smaller shop that has to work very closely as a team, and as such there is no one position that is limited to any particular category..... we all do pretty much everthing!
Advancements will be possible into managerial duties, parts ordering, sales, and customer relations.
Pay will be based on an applicants abilities and experience.
Please email applications (in form of a resume) to
[email protected]

Like I said, its probably a shot in the dark if anyone from our area is on here, but its worth a shot!
