Threads from all the forums should be forwarded to Miller to show what BS a lot of potential customers have had to deal with.

Get your money back and move on with your life. EVERYBODY makes mistakes. All the peon employees are left making excuses.

Got a call from Grainger this AM, saying that "due to the pricing error" they would offer to complete my order for 30% off of list, which takes it from $1,121 down to $785. (180 / Autoset, Grainger # TKC5, which is now gone from the Grainger website)

Got a call and email from Grainger. Email is this:

From: "Leard, Jonathan" <[email protected]>
Date: Mon, 13 Jun 2011 16:21:54 -0500
To: CCRACINXXXXXXXXX
Subject: Grainger.com Order XXXXXXXXX

Chad,

Thank you for your order for the Miller Welder. Unfortunately, there was an error in pricing, and your order has been canceled. We appreciate your business and apologize for this inconvenience. To make up for this error, we can offer you a 30% discount from the normal price. If you would like to purchase the welder at the 30% off price, you can call Grainger at 1-888-361-8649.

Jonathan Leard

Sr. Sales & Customer Relations Specialist

I replied with the following. I know it probably will not help, but I feel better.

Jonathan,

I have to say that this comes as a shock. I would have thought more of Grainger. I have been dealing with your company for years in my various positions. I am now trying to get my own venture off the ground and this welder is one of the items I needed. I find it completely unprofessional to handle this issue this way. Every company I have worked for has without question honored pricing that was mistakenly printed. It does happen and will happen. It speaks volumes to me that Grainger is choosing to handle this in this manor. I can tell you that unless you honor my order at the advertised price for which I have an order confirmation for, I will never allow any of my employees to order from Grainger again. I will also be filing a complaint with the BBB. I will also make sure I relate this situation to any colleagues that are willing to listen. There is the right way to handle errors and the wrong. You are definitely choosing the wrong. If you choose to honor the pricing and fill my order, I can promise you that I will spend more effort praising the way you handled it than what I mentioned above. I hope you will choose the correct path.

Regards,

Chad Fellabaum

I got pretty much the same call yesterday but for the 140 I ordered. They did pretty promptly reverse the credit card charges (ordered on Thurs by Sat they had come off)

It would have been nice if they handled it better and honored the price but I can see how they got a ton of orders and would take a bath in how much they would lose fulfilling them. Least they were honest in that it was a pricing mistake and made and offer 30% off list.
