Well.... I'll have to take back my comment about the car being 110%.... and drop that percentage a bit.
Seems I still have a brake light issue.... as in "intermittent" operation.
Some parts of the story I had left out of the S.A.R story is that they ran my brand new Smeding 383 without oil pressure for 15 or 20 MINUTES.... and while the bearings looked okay upon inspection... the motor now (has 700 miles on it) smokes when you get on it - or after compression (coming down a grade) and get back into the throttle... BLUE SMOKE not black. So I'm thinking - given their "history" of mechanical work - that they failed to seal the intake manifold correctly... or that the valve seals were wiped out... or who knows.
The engine and especially bearings would be toast with 15-20 minutes of run time with no oil pressure. With little to no oil pressure, there is no oil to sling on the cylinders or camshaft.
