Update.... Been working and stealing time away when I can. The new nose is mostly roughed in.... final panel gapping and tweaks soon to follow. I actually have primer/surfacer on the fascia and nose section... It's been a long time coming! Other progress has been permanently mounting the dash and fitting it to the ols style windwhield profile. The rear fiberglass has been a challenge to fit as well... getting there though!. Tire sizes are 285/35/18 up front and 305/35/18 in back ... on 8's and 10's respectively.

Nice to see you're working on it

Is that a typo - 285s on an 8" wheel in the front?

8" wheel is probably fine but way too narrow for a 285. Even if you do get the tire on the 8" wheel, it's going to bulge badly, IMO. Most early mustangs can't accommodate a 285 in the front either, without some serious flares. You can stick with the 8" but you might be looking at a 245 40 (to keep a similar profile to your 305 35). If you do happen to have enough fender and suspension to fit a 285 in the front, you should go with a 9inch wheel at the minimum, and even that is considered a little small for a 285.

Is it possible to stretch the rear fenders of a mustang? like they are doing with the first gen camaro's and still keep the body lines? Those 4X4 fender flares on the other mustang look kinda silly, just my opinion, not hatin, just wondering, I have a friend that is building one and likes what you are doing with yours, awsome project

I've seen a couple of early Mustangs with the quarters widened... split at the top and spread out, i think it looks good, lots of work involved... but what rout isnt filled with "lots of work.." ? ... Personally I didn't want the giant dually-flares wither... I mini-tubbed to the inside and rolled the outer lip. With my Schwartz chassis I can sport a 305/35/18 with decent clearance for sidewall deflection on the back. These pics are a final mockup before the tub goes to Greening Auto Company for blasting and epoxy... then it's on to bodywork and gapping now the the designing is finished. Thanks for the kind words!

The hood is a new item from Mustang Depot.... due to the custom fenders and headlights, I had to lengthen it 2 inches in order for it to fit. it is basically a vintage looking GT500 hood that fits the first gen. Mustangs,,, very nice piece, especially with the functional air inlets and extractors.
