i just ordered the plastic cover that covers the convertible mechanizim and the boot button studs from laysons. not cheap, but my old ones just didnt cut it. these will be black and nice looking.
ive been hauting the reilly motor sports website. bill is working on fitment for new hemis in early a-bodies (63-66 dart, valinats, barracudas) using the Alterktion unit. cant weight to see the results. the engine bay on the 63-66 a-bodies are just abit smaller then 67-and up darts. i might have to notch out the inner fenderwell. ill have to see what he comes up with.

I think it is very important for guys to save/modify "off" models. They are very cool and unique when done. I hope you see it through. I would be-line to that car at a show and shine, even un-finished.

thanks. i really really want to go all the way with this car. ive ouned a few older cars in my life, but have never had one as a project. my other cars where daily drivers. being younger back then with very little money it was hard to make dreams come true. now i have a garage and things are starting to get a little easier in life. funds are becoming more available every year. once my daily driver (neon) is payed off, more money will become available.
im gonna get that alterktion unit this year, which will update the frontend. then next year i might go for the tranny. one big item a year is all i can do right now.
some might say why invest so much money in a dart, and an early dart at that? i say why not? ill never oun a 70 challenger or 68 charger or a new srt8 car, but imagine the surprise on peoples faces when they see a 6.1 under the hood of a 64 dart convertible. my little 64, set up the way i want it, should not only strike up conversations at shows, but it should also be really fun to drive.
im reminded of that song "i got my mind set on you" by george (ex beatle, dead now). the lyrics go something like "Its gonna take money..a hole lotta spendin money... tah do it, tah do it, tah do it, tah do it, tah do it, tah doooo it right.
"now theyll think im crazy"
