That is entirely possible although hopefully this weekend's goal is accomplished! Got some pics forthcoming....

Made some really good progress tonight. Just one of those days where almost everything worked out well and came together. We needed one of those!

Long story short on the new 3" aluminum driveshaft I got recently... bought a new/2nd hand shaft on ebay for $200 in the length I thought was dead nuts what I needed, but I failed to account for the larger 1350 pinion yoke, so was going to get it shortened 1/2" (at the tune of $125) to make the trans yoke hit its target slip of 3/4"... driveshaft guy says we dont have a 1350 pinion u-joint, as I was told by seller, but instead it's a 1330/3R conversion u-joint... first I am kinda pissed, but then realize because of this the 1330 pinion yoke is shorter than the 1350 and that makes my driveshaft perfect length and hits my 3/4" slip target as I had previously thought. And the 1330 pinion yoke I needed is a little cheaper than the 1350 yoke I just bought (1350 is an overkill upgrade for what this car is doing anyway). Things were just fine with my old 1310 yoke/u-joints. Okay not so short of a story but it had a great ending and I wanted to share.

Got the oil cooling system finished and buttoned up consisting of a good sized Earl's cooler, Mocal 180* thermostat, 17 feet of Aeroquip -10AN stainless hose, 10 fittings, and Moroso remote oil filter system. Fired up the motor and it ran like a champ and got up to proper temp and pressure. First time I'd heard the kitten purr in almost 3 months.

The system added just under 2 quarts to the total amount of oil being used.

Very tight fit.

Todd -- Rich says hello.

We ended with the new driveline and cleaned up exhaust all done and called it a night.

Back at it this weekend!

Looks great Dave! Your motor will thank you for that oil cooler on those hot track days in the middle of the desert. Your Mocal T-Stat looks very similar to the Derale I bought:

Drive shaft looks right at home too. Glad it fit, cause I know how mad you get about eBay deal fail... (teasing Bro!)

Dave it looks like you did a nice job mounting the cooler. Plus on the drive shaft don't you love it when a plan comes together even if you didn't plan it or something like that! Very Nice.

Nice upgrades too. You should really find a way to get the one header tube off the pan or heat wrap that tube . That's just added unwanted heat to the oil not to mention that it could rub a hole from vibration, if its pushing hard enough on the pan..Just my 2 cents

Accelerating is optional...........stopping is mandatory. Your car WILL stop one way or another.

That Derale looks like a nice piece for 1/3 of the price of my Mocal. (Thanks a lot Gaetano!)

Yeah I lucked out on the shaft. But I love rollin the dice on ebay parts. It's just a fun part of life for me. Sometimes it works and others it don't. But I think I've "won" more than I've "lost" so far.

Thanks bud. Are you still going for both track days? Seems most are only doing Saturday... 91* eh? Yeah the cooler was a big thing to get done!

Yeah we just saw the Trans Am Vintage races at Laguna Seca recently and tried to mimic a lot on those cars. And it was very relaxing and rewarding to have that driveshaft work out just right!

Last night's punchlist for this weekend reads:

Trans tunnel fab and plate/shift boot
Center gauge pod
High temp brake fluid
Pedal mods
Carpet and interior

Thanks. Yeah I wish we had time to install the cut outs

And I tend to agree with you. I guess we will run the first day next Sat and then check it before Sunday. Might have to eventually re-route it. That damn dipstick tube was part of the issue too. Good thing we didn't go -12AN lines otherwise it woulda been really tough.

Good stuff Dave, that cooler will definitely be beneficial for you. How much do you think the aluminum driveshaft helps? I've thought about getting one myself as the 1LE Camaros came with aluminum driveshafts from the factory...so there are used ones out there to be had.

Look forward to seeing your mods that are going to be done this weekend.
