Personally I would leave what you have.

Just for kicks I did this. Please excuse my terrible photoshop its late and I just wanted to throw an idea out there. Imagine the stripes done on both sides and the strips are uniformly spaced and probably a little wider to show more carbon fiber.

How about gunmetal,charcoal stripes? If you still want some red, do a very skinny 1/16" red next to gunmetal or silver to give it some depth dimension.

I am currently going through the same ordeal because of changing the color of my wheels. I spent four days in the Bay Area last week to help a buddy out and part of that journey landed me in a high end sports car/hot rod consignment shop.

If there are any high end sports car/hotrod consignment businesses in your area I highly recommend visiting one or two. Checking out the paint schemes and wheel color choices helped open my mind a bit.

Why not go asymmetrical with it? That's something that's not often done.
