Default Anyone installed billet trunk hinges on a 67-8 Camaro?

I'm looking for some pointers. I have the drivers side hinge installed. I'm completely sure where to mount the gas spring though. The one's I have came with too small in diameter shoulder bolts as well as they are 1/4" too long. I have already sourced the correct size bolt. These hinges show for 69 camaro, so the template doesn't work for my 67. Pain in the butt is what these are turning out to be. I was on the fence about them in the first place. Oh well, too late now.

Any help is certainly appreciated

I would bolt the deck lid up and raise it to where it should open to, then mount the other end of the gas spring.
