I'm in Nor Cal.
I talked to them and ask for an estimate 3 times on 3 different occasions.
Been to the shop and met both of them. Both nice guys and look like they know what they are doing but after asking anyone for an estimate more then a couple times and not getting it make me a little concerned about paying for an entire motor in advance. I have read of horror stories on some forums and don't want to be one. Thanks though!

Something just does not add up with this. I'm not making excuses for them or trying to stir the pot, but there is only one reason I can think of for them not getting back to you. They don't want your business. Seems like you are having a lot of issues getting what you want from a number of different sources. My need to re-adjust the way you are going at it. Good luck.

That would be my take on the situation. Business ain't that good that "everyone" is turning down a guys business... so some part of this story doesn't add up. Not slamming the OP... but it just doesn't make any sense.

In the LS world tons of guys use Texas Speed for all kinds of LSX combinations. I would think Wegner or those Texas would be the way to go for a longblock. As far as LSX cams go, I only buy from Thunder Racing.

JR and his partner are on this forum...
Ask them for your self. I know he was having a new born at the time so he told me to give him a couple weeks but a month later I spoke with him on the phone and reminded him about it. He just never got back to me.....Thats it. Wasn't a big deal

Sherlock...I hope you can help me, I lost my favorite Matchbox 35 years ago. I don't have many clues other than it was an orange General Lee replica. Please help. Thanks in advance!

I always had great results buying Shortblocks from Texas Speed or SPDC.....Both Shops are very reputable in the LSX Engine building....Also you can either buy their Heads or go with a different company like WCCH,Trick,AFR and etc...It's the same concept building these engines does not take a "Mad Scientist" to build... On My recent build, I Bought a stroker kit from Texas Speed and a set of WCCH's and had My Local engine Builder help me put it all together...Good Luck Finding your Engine

I bought my shortblock from Texas Speed and Performance. I highly recommend them too. Hadn't fired the motor up yet, but they are a great bunch of guys to deal with and have some good prices on their blocks too.

69/RS - Let me just clear some things up here and hopefully shed some light so we can all move on. I do apologize that the written word can easily be taken out of context or perceived incorrectly. Clearly we have had some miscommunication here and I would like to fix that.
After doing some research I have found that the ball was dropped on our end. I had 4 pretty much identical quotes for customers wanting S/C LSX engines and confused your email with a couple others. I do recall our conversations and meeting here at my shop and have looked into who received written quotes and who did not, and you are correct, you never received one. Furthermore I want to say that I have no hard feelings about anything personally or professionally and that sometimes we have miscommunication and that is no fault of yours.
Lastly I would like to say that I would be happy to promptly give you a written quote for your project if you are still undecided? And if you have made a decision, I wish you the best of luck in your endeavors and hope to see you and your ride on the streets or at events in the near future. As always, if there is anything I can do to help you out, don't hesitate to contact me directly.
Regards,
JR
