Personally, I think dark flooring in a car rig is a mistake. The foot prints and dirt will drive you nuts. You won't be camping at the 4 seasons all the time.

Mike ----

What Charley said... end of April.

Todd ----

I don't think it's going to matter what kind of floor or what color it is. It's going to be filthy at a track event. I just figured the granite would be easier to mop up and it might hold up better in the long run. The "standard" is carpet and wood... and that, I think, would be a big mistake. But you've got me thinking now.

I've been kicking this around for AT LEAST 5 years now.... doing a bigger trailer -- with living quarters -- or just doing what's "normal" which is the way I've been doing it, i.e., a truck and trailer and hotel rooms.

Now that Gwen is retired... we're going to try to use show dates and track dates as an "excuse" to get out of the Pacific NorthWet in the winter... and be able to just come and go as we please. I'm a bit "nomadic" and am thinking that I'd use this rig the same way we used to use our boat. Or at least I'm hoping that's the case... and that the hassle factor of a rig this size is offset by the "go where I want when I want stay as long as I want".

Last week, for an example, I'd have stayed in Scottsdale a couple more days -- then headed for Del Mar Nats... then gone home up the coast. I'd have had the track car - the hot rod - and the regular car with me... Gwen would have flown home - and I'd have been a free man!
