Thumbs up Making a mess

sanding the quarters! I didn't get the door prepped, IAW POR15 if you let it dry overnite you have to rough the skin with a scotch brite and then you can topcoat. I'll rough it up this week and take it to work and get some black on the door.
So plan B, get the quarters down to metal and see if there are any surprises under all that paint. Chemical and mechanical stripping started and I almost finished in one day ... Just some touch up left and when I get the wheel houses going and the patch I can start body working the rear half.

Needed two rounds to get it down to metal

Still needs some work

Driver's side looking better
So ... not too exciting but it's progress, I put the trunk lid on for trial fit - pretty good fit.
Not bad for 45 year old quarters
Thanks for looking

Nice progress. They look really good , you must have felt happy seeing those in that shape once the paint was all off.

Thanks ... I was very happy to see the quarters in bare metal knowing I don't have to replace them

Default Update 4/3

Well I'm glad I didn't put away the heater, it was snowing this morning and I needed it tonite in the garage. Finished the quarter panels and did both door jambs. While I was removing the paint on the rocker panel I came across a hole? I think while I was discing the hole came through, there is a repair I need to do - glad I found it now!

Cleaned both door jambs

Hole that needs attention

My Great Dane came out to see what I'd been doing all nite.

More to follow .... thanks!
