Default Shift boot for custom console

Im finishing up a console I've made and need a shift boot for it...I've got an aluminum sheet for the shift plate, approx 5 1/2" x 9", that I will mount it to...my gti has a rectangular shift boot that may work, and the style with which it and BMWs mount makes it easy to attach to this aluminum piece...I'm liking the looks of an e46 BMW boot but don't know if it's too big.

I'm looking for something no wider than 4 3/4" wide and am just looking for ideas, I can't seem to find any dimensions online for these.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

For reference, this is what I'm mounting it into...I don't really like the look of the lokar shifter either
