Default Solenoid operated reverse lockout ?

I am going to try and solenoid operate the reverse lockout lever on my TCI Outlaw shifter. Has anyone done this before ? I am looking at using a 60lb door popper unit and pull the modified arm forward with a button mounted the shifter lever. I have ordered a matching button to add to the front by the trigger finger, any input and advice would be highly appreciated. I plan on keeping the shifter under a vintage style 4 speed boot and having a reverse lever sticking up through the boot ruins the look and inhibits the movement of the rubber boot

Default

Okay, I have the shifter modified...I added another micro switch to the front of the shifter and cut a couple "blank" reverse levers to see what will work best with the solenoid for a smooth operation. I was hoping there would have been a couple people here that have done this and could add some advise, looks like I'll be the guinea pig here. Now if I can remember how to get the shifter back together
