This was my first Power Tour and absolutely loved it. Missed Detroit but took off from Mike Norris's shop in Indy on Sunday and headed to Muskegon and made it the rest of the way to Texas and back to KY. All this on a never driven New clutch, new tranny, new fuel system, supercharger tuned at 9pm sat when we were suppose to be in Detroit, fuel gauge didn't work right, no air, no wipers, but attending was priceless. Loved the back roads, meeting all the people, and just seeing hotrods everywhere. A little wore out each day but it's a blast. Got to even park in the Nitto booth a few days so that was cool for me. Definitely do another one!!!

I saw your car somewhere on the tour. Now you know what it is all about. If I'm right, you are already thinking about what to do to your car to make next years Power Tour even better.

Yep, your right Charley. I can also see why people would do them year after year. I don't think we would ever get a better week of weather though. Not too hot, sunny and just perfect driving weather.

Thanks Jimmy. Yeah, I think I saw on pro-touring or somewhere, where you had some cooling issues. There was definitely some long lines. Cruising I was around 155-160 and stuck in traffic, no more than 185-190. I can imagine if it would have been mid 90's or more, it might have been different though.

I was not a participant in the Hot Rod Power Tour. I just got to mingle with some of you when you stopped in Madison, Il on Tuesday.

Thanks to Kevin Oeste, of V8TV who is building a car I hope to one day drive in the Power Tour, I got to meet Charley.

Even though I am just another one of his gazillion fans, Charley let me crawl all over Jackass taking pictures and asking stupid questions, all of which I'm sure he has answered a 1000 times before but he answered each one like it was the first time.

Next thing I know, he offers to let me ride along with him down the drag strip!!

I was in sensory overload. What a nice guy.

That's what this car hobby is all about. It doesn't matter that we all live in different "zip codes" relative to where our houses are located, the size of our collections or the level of success we have achieved in life. I know my "zip codes" are different than Charley's on all 3 counts.

We're all gear heads at heart with a common passion that transcends all those boundaries. Kevin and Charley are some of our hobby's best ambassadors.

Thanks to both Kevin and Charley for a terrific day.

Thanks to Power Tour for making it possible.

Lou
