Default knock sensors...do I need them?

hello guys
im dropping a 5.7 ls1 engine into my 69 firebird
and need to know if I can remove the knock sensors.

Nope. They have to stay. Why would you want to remove them anyway?

Yes, you need them if you want your engine to run right.

first time I work with LS1 block. Iam just trying to figure what to eliminate.

Is there anything else I wont be needing on a lsx swap?

As for as physical stuff on the engine, such as knock sensors, you will need to keep that stuff like IAC, MAP sensor, etc. The only stuff you will do away with is stuff on you computer when you flash it. Things that you won't need like ABS (providing you are not running ABS), vehicle anti-theft, etc.
