Mark, why do the front down bars land on the subframe so close to the firewall? Was this due to packaging? Just curious since they are generally further towards the front of the subframe on most builds. I love the detachable union you used, it looks very strong and nicely executed.

I'm going to guess it saves a little weight, makes overall packaging a little easier, and I think it would actually be a little safer because it would allow the subframe in front of the down bars to collapse in a collision and absorb energy that would otherwise be transmitted to the car's occupants.
