Default 70 Camaro rear tire sizing?

Hey folks...
1970 Camaro, pro touring-style... I'm preparing to order some mini tubs and a rear end/suspension... I'm planning to run 335/35-18's, at least. Maybe 20's?

I hate to buy wheels this early in the game to mock this up, so I'm curious what others have found regarding wheel backspacing, rear end width, and tub sizing.

I'll roll the fender lips (it's actually already done) also.

I would like to have some measurements in hand to use as a starting reference.

Can some of ya'll with 2nd gen's tell me what you came up with? Anything here I'm missing?

My first car in 20 years; doing it with my 14 year old kid. I'm excited to get started!

Brad

Brad,
Do your wheel tubs, suspension/rear axle assembly first, then measure the car for what will fit correctly. This is a better way to build out your project instead of getting confusing info from other builds that may not be using the same parts as you are using.
Also note that old Camaros where built by people so no 2 cars really measure out the same.

Thanks, Kevin. That's what I'm doing, actually. I just want to make sure my measurements jive with other folks...

consider the wheels are actually 12 and 13" wide respectively
so an 11" wheel with 5" back space has 7" on the front side. total width 69"
a 12" 6" 7" on the front side. total width 71"

one of your combos is not going to work being the rear end width is 2 inches different.
our car has 12 with 5" bs and a 54.5" and will need small spacer for a total width of 69 +/-
hope they both work out

Well Im @ a 6''BS on the rear, 57'' flange to flange. You are at 5'' @ 54.5''. Correct me if Im wrong but you add an in from both side to compensate for the bs difference and it would be 56.5'' F to F. Thats a 1/2'' difference that can be made up in the wheel well. I should have a 1/2'' on each side. With a 6'' lip on the outside and a 57'' housing that puts me @ 69''as well. PLease follow up with your opinion or input. Thanks-K
