It's easy.
I made a plywood base, drew the village plan on it, drilled and glued alignment dowels, cut it into 22 x 24 sections (so it would fit into the attic) made a light plywood shape for the mountains, cut it to match the sections. Platformed the flat supports for the houses etc
Overlayed chicken wire.
(auto guys will love this) bag of white shop towels, soaked in a mix of white glue and water,
Shape and let dry.
Extra blue (automotive touch up) for the "glacial" effect.
Gitter, fake snow and stuff, you can get at craft shops.
Streams and lakes are made of fiberglass resin, with a few fancy rocks and crystals and stuff from gem shops.
The deep lake resin, is tinted blue.
The river/stream is clear with a blue base.
The resin is acually an ultra clear and transparent resin, called "surfboard" resin. when the resin starts to kick, you can shape it into rapids, and waterfalls etc.
It can also be used as an ultra durable clear coat on exterior wood etc. (I used it on my boat swim platform) much more long lasting than varnish.
Good luck with your project!
