Price seems high to me. Plane jane with a 6, rust and mechanical issues....offer 7-800.
My 69 Suburban had rust on the firewall, both sides. I know the farm truck(71) is rusting from the inside out above the windshield.

Rockers are easy enough, is it both the inner and outer?

Tons of parts for these trucks, real easy to lose focus on the current project and spend time and money on the beater.

Round here you can find a decent runner for that price or less, rockers always need to be done on the PNW trucks.

Keep looking

Dan

Pay attention the the cab inner roof skin right above the windshield as well. The sealer in the rain gutters tended to dry up and allow water in the cavity between the roof skin an inner skin. They do make a replacement for this area as well. Everything these guys have told you is good info. I wouldn't go over 800. We have bought multiple trucks that run in this price range. Even though you like the long bed, they are the least desirable. Kinda like a 69 Firebird vs. Camaro. Good luck! I would love to see more trucks get some love!

If you want to come to Colorado, my buddy has 2 short bed pickups he'd probably sell for around $2k. One has a title, one doesn't. I haven't seen them so I can't say exactly what kind of shape they're in. I just know they're definitely projects.

Thanks for the replies guys. I'll pass for now. I'd rather get another bike anyway since it's easier to transport than another vehicle.

There's one about identical to the one you described in Lawrence for sale for $750 or best offer. It's a '68 instead of a '67 like the one you described, but it's complete and runs.

Chevy trucks of that vintage came standard with coil springs under the rear, and leaf springs were an option. GMC was the exact opposite with leaf springs being standard and coil springs being the option. Sounds like it'd be a pretty cool truck. Don't see too many long bed stepsides running around.

Thanks cascius. You're right about not seeing the long bed step side trucks. That's what drew me to it mainly. But, while I'd love to get my hands on one, it wouldn't be smart at this time. I have no real way to work on it properly. Maybe one day.
