Well anyone who sees the car should be at a loss for words for three reasons.

1. Troy's imagination and talent along with the talent of his crew seem limitless.

2. Poteet's budget ......seems limitless.

3. It's a 69 Torino after all...

I don't feel like looking over my shoulder every time I leave the house so here it goes.

So we get there and the car is already on the ground and ready to load on the trailer. I'm playing it not acting too excited or anything. You know, no big deal to me just hanging out getting a car.

Anyways the guys remind me stop staring an lend a hand loading my complete 9 inch housing, third member with Watts linkage, disc brakes and tires (what was in my car) in the back of the truck.

WTF this thing is heavy and awkward even with four of us. I feel beat like I didn't get any sleep. Geeze... what's my problem that can't be it. The bed of this truck is only 39 or 40" off the ground this shouldn't be a big deal.

Heave ho.

Al right that's done time to stare at the car again right. "hey Rob want to back the truck up" You see that is a guy with class trying to remind a half asleep dumbass like me 'UH we need to get to the show, can you help out a little and stare at your car after we are on our way'.

I snap out of it (or I think so) and get in the truck to position the trailer. As I make like three attempt to line the trailer up to the car I realize I think I'm still asleep. Geeze I'm glad there is nothing to hit out here. WTF. Ok close enough for government work we can start loading.

It appear I wasn't the only guy who missed a few things in the hast of trying to get on the road last minuet. Wait for it you'll see what I mean soon.

So Brett brought a small winch and bracket to bolt to the front of my trailer. At least he seems to be doing well with no sleep he gets that thing on trailer quick and is paying out the cable. (oh yea fat joke crowd it was only a 2000lb atv winch and it pulled the car up the trailer ) Jeremy has grabbed some axle straps and we are hooking the car up. Seems the car is kinda low. 3.5 or 4" to the lowest point with the skate board wheels. My trailer has a dovetail although short it should be ok. The car gets most the way up the trailer and all of a sudden the winch is laboring. (No the car isn't fat). Look under there somebody left a deep socket on the trans mount and it hangs down a couple inches and is now wedged between the car and trailer. How cool is that. Brett lets the car roll back a bit but that socket seems determined to go home with me now so out come the boards to go under the rear tires so we can clear the crest of the dovetail with the socket. A few minuets of back and forth and another set of boards and we get the socket past the crest in the trailer.

Ping... clink... ding... WTF now it decides to just fall off. 2000+ mi in a trailer from IL; loading and unloading twice out of their rig; and now after we F around for another 20 min with these boards it just fall out?

Hey Murphy thanks a bunch could you at least bring me one of your Irish Stouts while I suffer through this?

Whatever it's on the trailer and Phil and Jeremy are helping us throw the straps on it. Did I remind you these guys, may be, better people than they are fabricators? Remember they had to get to the show to help out somebody else. They stuck around and made sure we were all set before they left. Class acts.

Cool beans now Brett and I just need to park the trailer in this lot and lock it up and we can go to the show.

Maybe

Awesome story and sounds like my luck. Also, what you said about Phil and Jeremy....true to the tee. Their passion for what we (and they) do, is impressive. They are great guys. Their dad Neal, is the same way. Just way cool.

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Yes Neal is a great guy. We had a good time BS ing with him at the auction.
