Update time. Spent half of Thursday and the majority of Friday working on the car.

Started by laying out the bulk of the parts left to install and typed up a list of “needed to run” items to prioritize my work.

I spent most of my time laying out the fuel system. Got the front/return lines ran to the regulator. The return line will also flow thru a cooler I mounted in front of the radiator.

For the feed side I struggled with what to do with the y-block. I ended up making a little bracket that re-uses one of the holes from the previous coil installation. I may move it lower so the lines hug the top of the valve cover. I need to figure out where to mount the MSD box and coil so I can finish routing the feed line.

After the fuel lines are done I will focus on the electrical system again. Need to get power to the Holley ECM, fuel pump relay, & Vintage Air unit. Then it’s on to a few exhaust updates before changing fluids and pre-fire inspection.

Painted our MSD box with a black rattle can kitchen appliance enamel. Seems like a nice durable finish. I roughed up the factory red with a scotch bright pad before painting. After the black dried I hit the high spots with a palm sander to bring them back down to aluminum. Time to clean it up and get it mounted.

Been trying to reuse or cover up old holes in our smoothed firewall. Found that a 2.125" billet fuel filter bracket works great for a coil mount. Even the holes matched up to the old chrome bracket. I also did a little trimming to clean up the MSD mounting bracket.

Chris Robinson's Major Havoc build thread has given me some good ideas for finishing our fuel system.

Now that spring is here I need to take time off work again to wrap up this project.

Had a little time this afternoon so I got the MSD box mounted to it's bracket and then to the firewall. I also played around with options for my fuel supply and made a shopping list for fittings needed to finalize it. I originally had the regulator mounted off the intake behind the pulleys. I don't like where the return line runs in this setup so I'm going to reverse things and borrow Chris's idea on where to mount the regulator. This will work better with the cooler I'm mounting in front of the radiator as well.

Took Wednesday off to work on the car and also put in a few hours today. Wrapped up making the fuel supply lines and finished a few small items. Need to make a bracket to support the regulator yet. I also plan to pressure test all of the lines after rounding up a couple fittings to complete the testing manifold. I started tackling the wiring today. Have a handful components to get sorted out. Holley HP EFI harness, Fast Dual Sync Dis, MSD Digital 6AL box, Fuel pump/relay, and a Vintage Air unit. It was daunting at first but picked away at it and think I have a good plan now. I’m hoping to take another day off this week to keep at it.
