True it is "generic but all encompasing." There is a build thread on Lateral-G that is a Volvo... Built for handling, with full custom sheet metal, and an LS transplant if I remember correctly. Can someone who says Pro-Touring is just muscle cars honestly not call that Volvo Pro-Touring?
But you do bring up a good point... if you take a Fox Body or a 90's F-Body and put in a aftermarket suspension, mod the engine and back it with a t56, throw some custom sheetmetal under the hood, and do some subtle body mods why wouldn't that be Pro-Touring... But again there will always be some car built somewhere that someone can argue some point about it being or not being...
The purpose of the exercise was to put together a decent definition, not for the inner circle to aruge about, but for those not quite so educated to get interested and want to learn more.
