Took the car out auto crossing again this past weekend. It was pushing like a dumptruck but I good time. My buddy that has been helping me wrench on the car co-drove with me and he is the second video. We are going to put a torsion bar setup in the rear that hopefully will eliminate the pushing and allow the car to rotate better. The camera was focused on us so its hard to see the track fyi.
Havent worked on my car for awhile but this is how it looks as of recently. Almost ready to start on all the bondo. Putting new fiberglass hood, and racing apron on it.
Ive been busy with school and working so I havent been able to work as much as I would have liked, but here is the car as of recently.
The Car completely stripped. I took the front fenders off to strip them better.
Fenders back on and just about to start all the blocking and sanding on the car. I got a fiberglass gt350 style hood from my grandpas attic. My uncle had it on his car back in the 80's but forgot to latch it one day and it flew up and cracked where the hinges bolt on. I got it and repaired the fiberglass and it worked out good for me. Ill post some pics of the repair soon.
Random hole I found on the tail panel that was covered with bondo that I discovered when stripping the car. Going to patch soon.
Roof was pretty wavy so it took a lot of sanding to get it all straightened out.
I rolled the front fenders with a hammer and got it out to a 1" flare. Plan on putting some 1" fiberglass flares on the rear because the quarters are rust damaged.
Some shots around the car. This car is defiantly not a top $$$$ build like it seems like a lot of the cars on here are but Im working with it and Im learning a ton from working on it.
