Default Whats it worth???

So I told myself no more cars after just selling a couple more cars over seas and then I go to do an estimate and theres a nice 1949 convertible Caddy sitting in this garage.

I don't know anything about Caddy's but do know this one has some value. Sorry no pics but heres a good discription.

The car is 100% stock down to the hub caps, 100% rust free. Clean body with about 5 minor dings in it. The interior is in good condition, no rips or fading. The car ran 12 years ago when it was driven and parked inside a garage with 56,000 miles on it. It needs a new top but all of the chrome is in near perfect condition. The doors shut like new and all of the glass is good. Now, I have looked all over for values on this thing and can't really find anything to help except for Hagerty. I think Hagerty needs to update their site because they have one of my cars valued at $65k.

So if any one can help me out with this that would be great. I want to offer a fair price for the car and not lowball myself out of a great car. If I get it, it will Not be going up for sale, its way to cool.

Thanks in advance for any help

John

What was the condition of the car at the purchase? Rateing scale 1-10.
For 60k i would expect a fairly clean driver.

So I did extensive research on this and had my Hagerty insurance appraiser look into these cars and he will be doing a physical inspection on it soon. So far I found that a 49 Caddy sitting in this condition is in the 17k to 20k range right now in the car market but restored they can pull up to 140k in the big auctions. I fighure if I can get the car for 20k and put about 50k into it in a few months I will have another toy to help pay for the little girls college funds i the later years

So i brought the Caddy home the other week, cleaned it up and this thing is in great shape. Its in such good shape I changed the plugs, put a battery in it, cranked it over for a little bit, hooked up the coil, starting fluid and she started and ran like it was just driven yesterday. Purrrs like a kitten. The interior is 90% and the body is super straight. Now its time to do a full resto.
