I dig the color.

Why didn't you paint the carbon graphics? Kinda like this

No tape lines, all slick and under the clear

Starting the cut and buff at Best Of Show.. you can get an idea of the rear stretch here.

Moroso is working out the dry sump deal.. thinking of putting the sump tank in the trunk. After all, I need to save all the weight I can off the front.

I have the block and heads.. just paid for the lightweight Lunati rods so that stuff is "in process"

Thor at Moroso is working out the oil system.. I'm sad to say it will be over a month to gather up all the stuff.

Right now I need a bigger tig welder for the cage, the bars are crazy thick (.185-inch or so)

Looking great Steve. I guess the budget plan build went out the window, LOL Is the goal to one up Bad Penny?

That died a long time ago.. originally I wanted to do a REAL budget build.. with a stock subframe (Gulstrand mod), leaf springs and simple stuff.

Well, once I was asked to run a fancy suspension that went out the window. Also, at this point I'm building a car to "replace" Penny.

The irony is that it will NOT be faster than Penny.. might be faster on the drag strip or standing mile, but not in the twisties.. Penny was built using many one off and proto parts.

Track Rat will be a FUN car.. and to be honest I'm more interested in having fun then doing the whole "one upping the Joneses" in terms of building the fastest car out there, especially since I can't compete with many of the hotshoe drivers out there. So, the plan is fun

And since this car is "replacing" Penny, I need it to be of a certain standard.

At least the '67 I'm building if pretty budget.. still not what I would really want to do if I could do things my way.

Good for you!

At some point in time Penny belongs in a museum, she's iconic IMO.

Which Lunati rods are you going to run? Their 4340 setup like these or is there something else out there that I haven't seen yet . I've been looking at going with a set of these myself. Supposed to be a real nice rod.

Thanks,
John
