Default interior fab tecniques required

Don't know if they are ancient chinese secrets but I need some tips or maybe industy standards for in my case a center console.I can fab and i have made everything for my car over the years but I don't want my console to look like a wooden box with a couple of holes for cups.I have the shape and the size layed out but now stuck.the sides I want to wrap in black to match seats and the top I want to be aluminum sheet either painted car color or wrapped with a carbon fibre vinyl maybe.I also want a sliding door like a tambour door that disappears when its open to expose a 12v pug and a space to hide my iphone. Also will have lighted cup holders with some nice billet rings.I have paid close attention to car shows any time interior work is done and tried youtube also but the important tech stuff gets glossed over.I can post pics if it helps. Who will show me how to saw this lady in half?

Perhaps post pics of your design and maybe some folks will have a better idea of what you're looking to do and can offer suggestions on how to build it.

Also, what material do you want to build your console out of? metal, wood, plastic, other?
