Default 66 Chevelle Shocking issues

Im in the middle of a frame off build on my 66. 502, keisler 5, 373 Moser. I have a upgraded St Box ( new) hotchkiss front and back bars and st parts, 2" lowering springs, Global west control arms. Stock spindles with 13" Wilwood 6 piston brakes. My Bilstein shocks don't fit the control arms and I am thinking maybe I won't be too happy with the overall handling. I will drive this car on the street, occasional 1/4 mi , and maybe some light autocross.

What would a set of coilovers do here or at least a good set of adjustable shocks ?? and should I change out the spindles ?
