I didn't realize you're down under. That certainly adds to the cost, but may still be your best bet. How much do they need shortened?

Chad its 50mmm per side.. or 2'' .. im not sure if there is enuff spline there to chop off the ends,, Would you know how much spline is needed on the axle ends?

Moser 30 spline axles.

If i remember correctly, It's 1 1/2" on alum carrier (spool) and 1" on steel carrier is safe

ill have 1 1/4" of spline left after cutting the end off the axles.. eaton posi from moser.. how does that sound???

I don't know how much spline is need to transmit the power. I would contact your axle mfg. and ask them. They should be able to answer that based on their axle matl., heat treat, etc.. In you haven't yet, i would verify actual engagement vs total length. What I mean is, will there be enough spline left to allow the axle to fully engage the carrier? We had this trouble on our race cars. You could shorten them enough for length, but the axle spline would bottom out on the carrier before the axle was all the way in. Good luck!

Just for giggles, I checked the spline engagement on one of my old 9" 33 spline Currie drag axles and total engagedment of the splines into the carrier was 1 3/8
