You have that almost exactly right --- except reverse it. They don't give property away in Sun Valley...

A) not much property around despite what you see -- it's mostly BLM land.

B) It's Sun Valley. Can you say Vail? Tahoe? Jackson Hole?

It's actually pretty flat at the Cul d Sac.... and should be very little, if any, grade to the shop.... The trailer is fairly light -- and normally might only have two cars in it.

Of course -- I know NOTHING about lift trucks... but my brother in law and sister have worked for Hyster (now Pape) lift trucks for over 30 years -- so I have to lean on them to see what I can get to do something like that. OBVIOUSLY I'll work to NOT have to do that. I'd far prefer to just make the Cul d Sac the radius it needs to be.... and since SV Corp owns the lots -- none of the others have sold yet.... perhaps they'll allow me to do what needs to be done in the way of "improvements".

Probably the first... and last time I'll ever need the big quartz lights. They were really nice for this purpose though!!!

Boy you weren't kidding.....when I heard Idaho I was thinking inexpensive. I just checked property values out there....

Bruce Willis and Demi's house is for sale here - at 7 million...

There are a few available (not shown on Zillow) in the 10's of millions...

A crap 2 bedroom condo built in the 70's will start at half a mil.

Here's one you should look in to.... They're short of builders here!

That is pretty cool. If I went out there I'd have to start a new subcontractor base. Takes time to find good hard working subs. I'm living in the last house I built and it took my subs and I 6 months to put up a little over 4600 sf turn key and that included hauling off 900 yrds of dirt and excavating in very rocky terrain not to mention two weeks lost due to rain. The excavator we were using had a 6 yard bucket on it and we were pulling out 4' boulders. I used the boulders to retain the cut at the backside of my lot.
Hell, I'm rambling.......back to the fun stuff.

It's all fun!!!

The initial plans are for 4000' of "shop" under the house -- large enough to suck up 65' of truck with 14'+ high ceilings... That will ALL have to be excavated. Some of those walls will be used as foundation for the house - but the house is about 6200 sq feet so it isn't a one for one exercise... and the lot is variable with the slopes etc.

Get this -- the roof load -- 125 #'s per square foot rated....
