The trunk. Thieve's go to the source of least resistance and speed is their friend.......not many pack a steering wheel.

well in my current state im making sure my car isnt being stolen by not having a motor or transmission...... yea thats why i dont have a motor........

I wont drive it anywhere that i wont be able to see it for more than 5-10min

What Sieg said Mike^^^^ they are looking for the quick and fast option. But just remember if they want it they will take it! They old saying "locks keep honest people honest"!!!
A good friend of mine, his dad was a Chicago Policeman for over 20 years. Work in stolen cars for years, he got a call about a Corvette that was stolen from a garage. The owner came out in the morning to go to work and his 69 427 Vett was gone. The thing that is funny is they had left him a note? If we want it we will take it!!!

he said the owner was laughing about it!!!

Yeah, i do know about the path of the least resistance. My house was robbed about three years ago, 55" plasma, lap top, bout a $1000 in cash from the master bed closet. We have two 100lbs, and it occured about 1pm in the afternoon, I always thought of the labs for protection, nope. In our case, we think it was an inside deal. We were/are in the ministry part time and our house was the home group for the kids on Wed nites for five years, there were a few "bad seeds" here from time to time.....and yes, the garage was off limits (mostly due to fear of damage, like "scratched paint" and the like)

Anybody do Lojack? is it still around? i guess i could Google it but i'd like to here from people who actually used it...

Hidden kill switch that requires it be pressed or on to fire the starter or in your case, power the PCM. Using a relay system, you can make the kill switch many different things like a power window switch, cigarette lighter, or rear defrost switch etc. Use your imagination but make it something simple and convenient for yourself.

Removing the steering wheel is great.

Lastly, and this I believe is most important, accept the fact that if the car is wanted, it will be taken no matter what you do. Sorry. Carry good insurance on the car and park in safer areas whenever possible.

LoJack has worked great for us.. We have installed it on a few cars @ the shop.. I have them installed in areas that you will have to diassemble half the car to find them.. If the car is been transported on a trailer.. you get a phone call in 5 minutes..

Ravelco- That system has not worked that great for us..

Kill switches are good but as long a you don't cut the juice to the battery.. With any late model engine conversions.. Keep constant juice on the ECM.. their are several ways to keep the car from firing it up with LS engines..

FYI- If you ever plan on using the car as get away car .. Ditch the LoJack & your cell phone!!!

Getaway car! and install a toggle for your rear lights too

Just kidding, where i grew up in Fremont, CA, there was a group of people running the nimitz at night with that option, Fremont PD thought i was one of them in my camaro, 1984, they cased me for two weeks, then left. Back when they had resources to do things like that.

i'm thinking lojack and the wheel, butt if they want it, they want it....

I know y'all will think I'm crazy, but when I was driving my car during the first build, I had no security device on my car. More than likely, I won't put one on there this time either. As bad I as I would love to, I never drive my car where I got to leave it. No movies, no grocery store, no ball games, no restaurants for dinner....no nothing. I hate to deprive myself, but I know that no security device will stop theives. If they want it, they get it...just as someone else just said. Now, if they carjack me, they can have it. I'm not willing to die over it. But, I never, never, ever, ever leave my car unattended. True story...I was driving my car one time and my wife called me to stop and bring home some bread. I drove about 20 minutes home to put my Chevelle up and got into my regular car and went back to Wal-Mart to get the bread. And it was daylight and I probably could have went in the store, bought the bread and been back out in 10 minutes. My car's license plate isn't registered to my home address either. Therefore, a thief cannot get the address where the car is kept. It is registered to an address where the car is never stored. My car is kept at my house, of course, but the license plate is registered to a relatives house in another part of town thats 40 minutes away from where I live. Every now and then I;ll drive it to work at the fire station. I even park it inside the apparatus bay with the fire truck and ambulance. The apparutus bay is what civilians would call the garage.

I would never do such a thing.... But I might have pulled it in out of the pouring rain to wipe it down.... and I might have dozed off while it was sitting there...

Pretty much my approach also. In CA you are not required to leave registration in car - it merely has to be there (on your person) when you are driving it. I don't leave registration in my DD either.
