Default Mufflers for my 487. Are any of you using variable mufflers?

I have Patriot varaflow mufflers now 2.5 inch. They were perfect on my previous 434 cobrajet.
The 487 is LOUD even on the quietest setting . With the muffler unrestricted, it is deafening.
So change in exhaust will happenn. I like the variable mufflerw a lot. Gotta make it tolerable
Any suvgestions?

Why not add a second set of resonators just before the tips on either side of the gas tank.

Thanks for the suggestion Rob. It looks like the 3 link/watts link I want to use, will interfere with the location I had my resonators before.

The only thing I can maybe add is some small diameter round mufflers, and substitute them for some of the straight sections of pipe.

Exploring options now
