Adam Dean was driving that car for the record run attempts. The weather was spotty the two weeks we were there. I logged about 6 hours of stick time at the Nurburgring on this trip. It is a scary fast track with a great car. This is the part of my job that makes all the GM corporate BS worth it.

The car is nutty fast. The corner speed at high speeds is a bit intimidating to start off with. The brakes are also crazy good. I have been to the Nurburgring over 10 times with a lot of programs but this was the best trip so far. Once you get used to the speed and grip the car is very comfortable at speed. The car does make down force so when it gets airborne you can feel it really float.

We test during the Industry Pool days (IP). The IP days are for just the OE manufacturers with certified drivers. So the only time you can video is during rented track time. So we ran faster times in the dry with traffic. I had a chance to square up with a few GT3 and it was a hoot. The Porsche guys also had their 918 there this trip. That is in another league of car.

If anyone is going to SEMA Lat-G party I can bore you with a few stories. I will not have a new old car at SEMA but the Z/28 will be. My year has been spent working on the Z/28 project, moving and getting married.

I'll have a new car next year. Charley is going to let me use Mayhem at OUSCI this year.

That's awesome Mark. Wish I could be at SEMA to hear the stories. I'm salty about the rumored prices simply because of jealousy! Lol I want one, but these cool cars are becoming something everyday family guys simply can't afford. It has to be cool to be part of programs like this. Great job on a wicked car!

How far off from an SS is it?
Light years?

I would imagine, steering, power, brakes, handling.....probably an entirely different car?

But i must say, during the unveiling a couple of months ago, i got goosy's. Hmmm, maybe i'm just a Camaro guy....who loves many of otherr makes and models....

I agree with you, I had drag suspension on my 93 cobra at one point and I enjoyed the car so much more when I took it all off and made it where it would handle great for what it was. The new camaro has just been a disappointment to me. There is nothing great about the SS it's just a big overweight car with a good engine. The ZL1 didn't live up to what GM made it out to be. The Z28 is awesome but it's nothing I could ever buy but neither is a gt500. The majority of the Z28's will probably be bought by collectors and will never be used for what they was built for.

Sounds like 2013 has treated you very well, congrats on all of your accomplishments.

GM hasn't produced a car that has captured my attention like this Z/28 since the birth of the Z06. I'm very much looking forward to being bored with your stories.

I recently drove a 1LE, I was very impressed but are they even comparable?

Thanks to Charlie as well as this is my first SEMA/OUSCI trip and I get to see you put Mayhem through it's paces.

"I asked Oppenheiser one more thing about competition around the Z/28. His team wants it to go against the GT-R, sure." Too bad the price might be approaching the GT-R! I have a 2013 Boss 302 that sees track time and I would be willing to bet if I threw $40-50K at it...it would be as fast as a new Z-28! That being said, I was ready to buy a z-28 if the pricing was closer to a ZL1 to park next to my Boss

Check out the lead we had to the ZL-1 before the rain came.

BTW I wasn't asked to make it cheap... I was asked to make it FAST!

Price will be announced after the 1st of the year.
