My Carhart bibs from around the ranch.

I threw all this in my soft tool back loaded with some basic tools (my Pick A Part kit) and threw it in my duffel bag that I'm checking in.

In my carry on I'm taking my Burton Snowboard Jacket, Pants, Gloves and wool socks which I know will keep me dry and warm in the worst of conditions for some time. Even if the Airline loses my duffel I won't freeze.

Of course a Pair of logger boots with Vibram soles (mink oiled by Cheryl, thanks hun) are covering my feet for the first part of the trip.

The first day we hope to get out of Ossipee NH by 1 or 2 and make it to Philly by 8 or 9 that evening.

Anyone feel free to suggest some routes to get there or some places to see in Philly.

It's a "Ford" Mr FE Rob...what could possibly go wrong?

Well the shop aired up the tires to 70# and then noticed weather cracks in all the treads.... so I had to hurry up and order 6 new tires today from Tire Rack and luckily they will be there Wednesday... if all goes right. I pick up the truck Thursday. Not much room for error there.

Had shop measure the side storage boxes and they 36 x 15 x 16... big enough for my suitcase.

I guess with 6 tires its safe to say that in the small chance you may have a blow out you still have two extras.

Have a safe trip/adventure fellas.

If you guys are coming through Philly @ dinner time and want a Cheesesteak this is my reccomendationhttp://www.tonylukes.com/stores/ion:
There's the iconic war of Pat's vs Geno's but this is a step above in my opinion as I've tasted each of them. They also have a Roasted Pork Sandwich which is very good as well.
If you get into Philly earlier there is also the Reading Terminal Market
http://www.readingterminalmarket.org/ They close @ 6:00 pm but in there is place in here called DiNic's very good Roast Beef and Roast Pork Sandwiches.

After reading this all I can envision is the movie breakdown! My question is who is going to stay with the vehicle and who's going to hitch a ride for help!

Good luck, drive safe!

New tires are the best insurance you could have bought....

With a gas tank that old - don't run it down below a 1/4.... there has to be plenty of sediment and maybe water in there...

Of course tires need to actually be on the road in a running driving vehicle... so that part remains to be seen. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

EPIC!!!

EPIC!!!
24 x .75 = 18 x 6 = 108

3400 / 108 = 31.5 refills

31.5 x 18 = 567 gal x $3.35 -1899.45 / 3400 = $0.56 per mile

108 / 52 = 2.07 hours per tank

Might be worth picking up a 5 gal fuel jug for backup.

And a six pack of oil.

Can't wait for this one to commence!
