Payton took us to one of his local Nascar "connections" (a fast talking guy from Jersey, ironically

) and we started digging and ended up with a nice little pile... this is some of it
Had to stop by Roush Yates around the corner too
Another score with some authentic Carolina BBQ (great call Payton). Bryan, if you are reading this.... well, just don't.
After NASCAR shopping and late lunch we hit the go kart track down the street and with more uncanny timing we had the track to ourselves. We ran 2 races so whomever won race #1 would have to back it up and that proved fitting. I won the first race and Rob got me on the 2nd one. Before he comes on here to point out his Ford greatness and shifter kart racing past I'll say he did get fast lap of the day 44.4 to 44.8 and Payton right behind us.
In a related story.... a Chevy guy with 2 Fords and a Ford guy with 2 Chevies decided what more fitting of a place to call a truce than the U.S. Institute of Peace. I am sure it is a wonderful use of American tax dollars.
And finally our latest foreign exchange host family showed that true southern hospitality and provided us some tasty night cap beverages after a hard day of shopping and a delicious home cooked shrimp soup (Thanks Cheryl).
