Made a cart this afternoon from some 2x2 scrap tube and some decent 275lb casters, to get this thing up off the floor. (It needed to be 'Murican height, and not Taiwan height). This will raise it by 13".

I extended the base by a bit at the motor end of the saw, since when the thing is in the vertical position, the stock base gets a bit "tippy".

when the paint is dry i just have to hoist up the saw and put it on top. It will bolt on at the four tabs, to secure the saw to the base.

Rob --- Don't you have a CAR to work on.... Or I know another buddy that tickles cats for a living that's car hasn't had an update for awhile. What's wrong with California lately -- seems there's all these cars waiting around for some love!?!?!?!

Hey GW I'm just waiting for high HP Twin Turbo 69 Camaros to become cool again.

I will have to post some updates. Work on the car has been moving along. my photo-hosting service went out of business and all the links to pics I've posted on line since the dawn of time went dark...That kinda reduced my enthusiasm for posting pics/updates. Started a new job a few months ago also so free time has been in short supply.

Saw and hydraulic tubing bender project came about because I am doing the bars in the car next. I did farm out a little project to Billy Utley.

Hey Scott, I have been buying material lately from OnlineMetals and their service has been excellent. The only time my local guy can beat their prices is if I buy in 16 - 20 foot sticks and I haven't had a project that big in a long while. And their shipping is reasonable.

There is a great scrapyard down in San Jose that I love going to because the place is just littered with more "high-end" scrap from many silicon valley equipment fabricators. Lots of stainless, Aluminum, even Ti.

This is much better. Vise jaws are up at belly button level now. and with the head tilted vertically the center of mass is well supported. Sorry for the fuzzy pics.

Fore and aft is covered.....how is it side to side?

Mine has a fixed kickstand on one side. I'm thinking an aftermarket motorcycle stand might be the ticket.......if you need side support.
