Good for you Dave!
I'm relatively "new" to the whole road race thing - having done my first Bondurant school 10 years ago... but buying the car from Charley was what put me in the drivers seat.
I'm telling ya - you guys have no idea how fast you can get going on some of these tracks... and you get used to it real quick. Suddenly it really doesn't feel so fast. But pounding down the front straight at Thunderhill -- you're taking turn one at a good 90 mph maybe? I don't know - I'm afraid to look... but if you hit some oil - or coolant - or break a suspension part... DUDE... YOU ARE WADDING THE CAR UP BIG TIME.
I'd prefer to be able to tell stories about it sitting around the campfire. Safety makes it fun. Otherwise you might as well be playing Russian roulette.
