I want to mini tub but considering I have the stock width gas tank already that seems futile, I was also thinking vintage air is a good upgrade, and finally I thought that maybe dressing my ls up would be a good idea. Let me know what you guys think, any and all positive suggestions will be taken into account and thanks in advance guys.
I'm a fan of functional modifications over bling - AC; interval wipers; windshield washers; really good seats; sound system (maybe with blue tooth); exhaust system that won't drive you crazy when you drive the car 10 hours in a day; camber correction for the front end; solid body bushings; delrin/del-alum (or equivalent in aftermarket arms) UCA/LCA bushings; upgraded steering box; disk brakes front and rear; subframe connectors; good shocks and springs on the back end (I'm partial to composite leaf springs); a gas tank and pump that will reliably supply fuel until it's virtually empty.

Me, I wouldn't "dress up" the LS1 - it is what it is. I'd put the money into something that made the car work better.

You don't need a narrowed gas tank to minitub a Camaro.

Those are some good starting suggestions I think, I have the gen 5 brembos I want to use, and I also put the gen 5 seats in my car for comfort. I think vintage air, mini tubbing and a really nice sound system may be my next direction. Thanks!

How do you do that and what size tire could I run without a narrowed tank? Is there a kit out there that works with the factory tank?

The tank itself isn't at all in the way of the minitubs. A narrower tank just allows more room for the exhaust pipes to run through as far as I understand.

I have the DSE minitub kit + qudralink on my 67' with a stock width gas tank and can fit a 335.

If you stick with the leaf springs, and offset shackles, you'll need to narrow the tank to make it fit.

If you have a 4 link or Torque arm, no need for a narrowed tank.

I had a buddy of mine cut and re-weld 1" off of each side of the stock tank to make mine fit. 200.00.

Thanks for clearing that up - I did the quadralink at the same time so it never occurred to me that I'd need a narrower tank had I kept the leaf springs.
