Most of the time on RACECARS, they drive power steering off of the dry sump pump.

As far as shape with the transition from collectors (round) into a sort of "D" section, all I can find on the subject, technically, says to have the "D" section at least larger than the round section, in an ideal world of course.

My math shows this:

3.5" round = an area of 9.62 sq inches

2.25" x 5" "D" = approx 9.06 sq inches (it's not a perfect semi-circle D shape as you can see in the pics)

So, essentially, it's close enough by my estimation.

If anyone sees my math wrong, please share your thoughts.

Ha. Would be cool if I had 2 68's to see how a set of yours would compare to a set of mine. Wait, that doesn't sound right...

Hey, I've got an ... you do Payton's flares and there's your battle of the bulge(s).

Hopefully no testing of that kind around here.

It's the same Ford rack that you should have, unless you changed something. Jones PS pump assembly will be going on in a bit.

Whew. It's good thing mine is running a standard crank/water pump driven one then. I'd hate to be thrown into that RACECAR category.

Got to sit in my new Butler seat. She's nice and snug and fits me well. Because I have been on the Payton bench press and lat pulldown program since I left North Carolina, we need to stretch out the rib tabs a bit. Otherwise it's all right where it needs to be.

We threw the head and shoulder pieces on as well while we were fitting the pedals and column, and they were much less intrusive with respect to the cage bars than we were anticipating. So that was good.

Got it. I did replace mine with an AGR rack, but it is the Ford compatible one...

Ohhh you did eh? I recall you had a steering issue but did not see you replaced it. Did it fail completely or you simply decide to upgrade/change?

I like the over stuffed green one in the picture way better. Looks like you could drive all day in that one.
