Been awhile since I have posted any pics but I have been making some progress in the rear area. I have tied the side rocker panels into the rear tubs and now continuing the rear treatment. The mufflers ended up hanging just a tad below the quarter panel. I had to extend the rear quarters about 2 3/4" in the rear but tapers off as it gets to the wheel well. Once this was done I was able to make the panels. I'm not sure how hot it will get back there but I plan on wrapping the mufflers and also cutting opening and using perforated metal for breathing. I'm pretty sure that will be enough. If anybody has any other ideas I'm open for suggestions. Last night I made the rear cover for the tank and looking at the lines for bead rolling. Have a crazy week this week but should be done next week.
Brent, nice work. I tucked everything up tight also so I ceramic coated everything all the way back then header wrapped everything all the way back, covered my muffler tops with blankets and floorboards w/heat protection felts... alittle overboard but it looks good and works.. love your metal work and mad bead rolling skillzzzz...keep posting.
Brent that looks AWESOME! Always good to make progress.
Thanks Al!

Thanks for advice Lenie. Where did you get the blankets? I planned on coating everything as well. Just a little concerned with heat and being next to the frame and panels. I have plenty of room between the trunk floor and quarter panel. I know the mufflers are going to get hot but by the time it reaches the back I'm thinking it will not be that bad. Just want some reassurance. Maybe I'm over thinking it but I would rather be overkill than have an oh crap moment!!
nice job Brent , I hope to get back on mine soon been to long
