Default Another Insurance question..

I'm getting ready to pick my car up at BBT at the end of October. Its going to be moved around alot in the next 6 months. I called my insurance company (STATE FARM) and even though my truck and trailer are insured the contents are not???? I would have to insure the car seperately but they will not insure a uncomplete car let alone a ''classic muscle car''. So my question is how do you insure a uncomplete car ?

Call Hagerty or one of the other classic car insurers --- they understand what you're doing.

My insurance place knew it was under construction. Called them when it was done. No biggie.

This is what I do for a living. You need to talk to any one of the companies that specialize in classics: Hagerty, JC Taylor, Grundy, Etc. A good independent agent should have all of them.

They all understand and can cover a vehicle under restoration.

I switched from Hagarty to LaRue who offers coverage through Infinity this year. Shopped all of them and they had the best terms for the price. Saved $500 a year over Hagarty. Many of the houses offer policies though Infinity and the research I did came back positive.

Make sure to compare terms as they are all a little different but all were flexible so I could get an apples to apples quote to compare.

You autobody shop insurance does not cover this car? I'm guessing your putting it on the books as a shop expense. My umbrella policy at the shop covers even my UTV race car for stated value.

Grundy, Haggerty or other classic car insurance companies. Normal insurance companies typically do not give 100% agreed value.

As Greg stated. Call them and they will insure uncompleted. They will just want pics and description.

Like Jeff, another vote for LaRue. Good people, service and coverage.

As someone who has actually filed a claim with a specialty/classic car insurance carrier (fire while car was still under construction) I can say working with Infinity was very easy and nice to deal with.
