Default Ford 9" options DSE?

looking at ford 9" options and was looking around and some folks have good prices. I was also looking at DSE and their bare housing with brackets is about $1k while some folks offer basically the same thing for 1/3 less. Is DSE superior or should I look to someone else. Thoughts? Reccomendations?

I would only go with the DSE if I was going to use their 4 link and have them weld it up. In my opinion, its not worth the extra money.

Are you going to use a Quadra-link? If so I would buy the housing with the brackets already welded on. Floater, cooler....etc? If you're planning on a floater the vent needs to be moved, if you want a cooler the bungs for the fittings can be added at DSE. Plan out exactly what you want to do and have the housing built with all the needed changes.

Yeah, I have the DSE quadra link kit. 9" rear housings of all combinations are out there for decent coin. DSE is a little higher priced, but then again...you know the brackets would be installed correctly. lol.

I'm my opinion, it's worth it to buy the housing with brackets and powder coated unless you get a floater. If going with a floater I would get Speedway Engineering to build the housing and weld all the brackets on, etc. I was blown away at the quality and reasonable cost of building my floater setup.

That housing price includes the welding of their brackets to it, using your brackets. Unless you weld the brackets on yourself, you will be paying someone to weld them on.

I went a head and ordered the bare housing with the brackets from dse for my quadralink. I couldn't afford to buy their complete rearend but at least I know my brackets are welded on where they belong. Also, they know what width housing fits what backspace... Kinda...

Mike,

I got a quote from them. The price doesn't include the brackets being welded. I recall around $520 for a bare housing, $110 for the ends, $250 to weld the brackets, $175 to shorten and weld on the ends etc. They do have options for the rear.
