I did not. I assume you are suggestion that I whack the tire with a dead blow hammer and see if I get some kind of similar sound? And perhaps a stupid question, but are you suggesting I hit the sidewall or the flat of the tread? I haven't heard of doing this before...

also check your parking brake bracket to axle flange bolts

So I lifted the rear of the car last weekend and beat on the tires. And beat. And beat... I rotated them and beat some more. I never heard anything that resembled my clunking type noise. I didn't have time to swap back the original Baer pads, but that is next on my list of things to try.

don't forget to do a nut and bolt for good measure.
