I said I'd never do a build thread, well I lied. I'll figure out the picture posting deal and start something once the wife decides she's done driving it for the year. I'm mechanical but really have no idea what I'm doing.
Besides the crap from Weld, I've collected or already installed quite a bit for this winters make over. I'll tell ya now, the goal isn't to build anything fancy. Just a bunch of solid parts that work well....I hope.

And since this is a RACE CAR thread and not the "parts bin".... A couple of the said Yellow Lemon... and I think even Charley would have to admit the new look is okay! LOL

And yes ---- thanks to Jack Maurer being the super anal guy that he is -- the body is pretty damn nice for a "track car". This isn't a Pro Touring car -- it's nothing but a track car. God bless Jack for building it and Charley for giving it away!

I was texting with Ron Sutton about some stuff ---- and I told him --- "I sure wish people could have lined up and driven the car before and after".

You just can't even imagine the improvements he's made to the car. The math doesn't work out - but I think I have TWICE as much brake -- and the difference is that I can go charging up to a corner and then apply the brakes SOFTLY and the car just responds by decreasing speed instantly... and the "dive" (might be the wrong word choice) just plants the front tires for initial turn in... I roll thru the turn and there's no lean... but it's not hard or jouncing around... There are videos on this forum that show cars that are so F'n stiff and they just loose grip instantly and are "twitchy". Trust me -- I don't want to drive ANY cars like that at speed! With Ron's secret sauce springs and shock combo - the car doesn't roll over - but it's compliant at the same time... Roll back into the gas and the car just digs and moves forward -- no drama... no squatting... no torque steer input. Just shoots forward. It's like the Lotus on steroids. The Lotus lacks torque. It CARRIES speed if you let it... and the braking is the best in any car I've ever driven -- until I got the new improved Ron Sauce Mustang.

The mustang looks BA, did anyone buff the paint? The paint looks pretty nice for a race car that just came from a track day.
