Default changing key tumbler from column

I thought I would post up a key change thread, I had a few customers ask how to get the old key out of a non tilt. if the ign switch/tumbler is original it is sometimes tough to see how it comes out, especially if its your first time doing it.

so here are a few pics on how to do it , my camera is decent but not high dollar so its tough to get those super close pics, but I think I got it covered

so here is a pic of the non tilt with the turn signal switch removed and ready to pull the switch

when you get to this point you can use a small needle nose pliers and pull the plastic buzzer switch out, the small metal tab may stay in and it comes out easy after, but be easy on the plastic switch if you want to save it , it will break easy

after you get the buzzer switch out of the way you can see the insert where you have to push the tab in, if your column is original and the key has never been changed you will have to push a little harder to knock out the metal in place covering the tab

and once you push in the tab you can pull out the tumbler,,,,and don't use a screwdriver on the outside chrome part ! it will pop off easy and wont go back on,if the tumbler is tough to come out just rotate it and pull a few times it then the tumbler comes right out

and now you can pull the tumbler out
